Building an Ecommerce site? Here are your checklists

Building an eCommerce store is exciting and a necessity. Launching an eCommerce store is a huge step in embracing and becoming a part of the digital world.

An eCommerce store is an online store that helps customers to find, order and pay for products via the internet. Having an eCommerce store would help to increase your business visibility and draw attention to more customers.

An eCommerce store is cost-effective, you can set up a store without having a physical one, that is you can operate your business from the corner of your room and your customers can access your store to make purchases from anywhere at any time.

Here is a checklist of what you need while building an eCommerce store:

Choose a product

The first thing before starting a business is to figure out what kind of products you want to sell. There can not be an eCommerce store without a product.

Product Info: price, pictures, description.

After you have decided what kind of product you are going to sell, you need to create a document that would contain the list of products that you would be selling with the items descriptions, prices and pictures included.

Images

While sorting out your products, you should also have high-quality pictures of the products, because seeing is believing. Invest in good photography-you can hire a product photographer to take pictures of your products or you could take the pictures yourself.

Social Media Platform

One of the best ways to promote your business is via social media. You can reach out to a lot of people with your social media pages and also creating ads on these platforms can help you reach out to millions of customers.

As soon as you get a name for your eCommerce store, you should also be creating social accounts for your business. You can use either or all of these platforms- Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and put their link on your eCommerce store.

3rd Party Platforms

These 3rd party platforms are necessary and important to have in order for you to be able to run a smooth eCommerce business.

These are some of the 3rd party platforms to consider:

Payment gateway:

You can partner with any of the payment solutions companies to make transactions process smooth. For instance, in Nigeria you can use Paystack, Rave for Flutterwave, etc.

LiveChat:

This helps your customers to interact with you without physically seeing you calling you. If they have any questions or issues, they can always contact you via the platform. You can use Tawk, WhatsApp Business Chat, etc.

If you have ticked everything off this list, then your e-commerce store is ready to be launch
